Failure Does Not Exist Until Acknowledged

When running the 100 meter sprint the difference between failure and success is measured within hundreds of a second. The person who comes 1st succeeds, while everyone else fails. Yet…

Failure isn’t failure until I perceive it as such.
Failure isn’t failure until I believe it as such.
Failure isn’t failure unless I acknowledge that I have Given Up.

Observe Your Reactions While Watching Movies

I learned today that how I react emotionally to circumstances presented within a movie is simply a reflection of how I deal with the circumstances of my life. For instance, I ask myself,

Do I feel Uncomfortable or Excited when the lead characters go through troubled times and setbacks? Am I disheartened by their plight? Or am I strengthened and excited by the journey that lies ahead?”

What does all this really say about me and how I approach my life and circumstances?

Sport is a Reflection of How We Play at Life

I learned today that how we play sports or computer games is a reflection of how we play at the game of life.

If while playing sports or games we are hesitant, afraid of making mistakes, complain all the time, don’t want to take risks, or just play it safe, than this is simply a reflection of how we live our lives on a daily basis.

This is of course not true in all cases – familiarity after all breeds confidence and self-belief.

    Imagine Posing Naked

Imagine you were posing naked in front of people.

    - What would you think? See? Hear?
    - What would you say to yourself?
    - How would you see the World?

When we remove the layers of clothing i.e. “emotional masks” – that hide our true selves from society, we begin to see the world in a new light. In fact we begin to see ourselves as we really are, and that in itself is one of the greatest gifts that we could ever receive.

    Deadly Psychological Boulders

Here is a scenario… I am driving home from work and I suddenly come across a big boulder laying across the road blocking my way home. What do I do? Do I resign to the fact that I will be sleeping in my car tonight? Or do I turn around and take an alternate route?

This scenario makes complete sense in the Physical World. However, when confronted with Psychological roadblocks it’s often not so easy to recognize.

I absolutely love this video. It just goes to show how we take the simple things for granted.
