Disappointment Helps Put Things in Perspective
I am disappointed because the World seems to be conspiring against me… because nobody will listen to me… because everything I do turns to rubbish… because for some reason I can never do things right, and I struggle to understand the stupidity of my decisions and actions.
And yet…
I am fortunate because disappointment has given me time to reflect on how effective my expectations, decisions and actions have been; it has provided me with an opportunity to identify where I need to improve my level of knowledge, skill or abilities; it has enabled me to consider a different perspective; and it has helped me to clarify if what I want is really what I want, or maybe it’s only what I THINK I WANT and therefore I don’t know why I’m feeling disappointed in the first place???
