Your Greatest Challenge Is An Opportunity…

When everything seems to be going wrong, this automatically presents an opportunity to test your mental resolve, creativity, adaptability and emotional strength.

Evolution is a result of life testing biological organisms and pushing them to their limits.

Evolution takes these organisms out of their Comfort Zones and onto a new and better path. Those who adapt, continue to evolve. While those who procrastinate become the Dodo’s of this world. This is how Dinosaurs became Birds and grew wings, and this is how we too evolve and take flight towards the mountain peaks of our dreams.

    When Bad Things Happen…

When seemingly bad things happen, I always say to myself:

“Good, bad… who really knows? …it’s probably too early to tell.”

Then I smile :) and continue on with my day fully knowing that I can’t judge a book by its cover and expect to know how the story ends ;)

Bathtub Lessons: The Power of Resilience

Several years back I wanted to test my willpower and psychologically condition myself in an unusual yet potentially dangerous way. I filled the bathtub with hot water (cool enough to the touch yet uncomfortable at the some time) and I submerged myself up to my neck. I committed myself at that moment that I would not move until the water cooled down substantially and the discomfort subsided.

It was an absolutely arduous and extremely uncomfortable experience that I did manage to get through in the end. It was risky and potentially stupid. However, today whenever I need strength to get through circumstances in my life, I turn my attention to those incredibly uncomfortable moments within that bathtub and I find the resilience to pull through.

    Failure + Experience + Knowledge = Wisdom

What I am today, what I have, who I have become, everything I have achieved and acquired in life is a result of trial and error – which more often than not equaled failure. In fact, Human Evolution is a result of struggle, pain, overcoming setbacks, and stepping outside our Comfort Zones. This often leads to Failure, that leads to Experience and Knowledge. Over time our Persistence leads to Wisdom = EVOLUTION.

    Nothing is Impossible!

Human history has proven time and again that anything is possible no matter what obstacles stand in our way, no matter how many naysayers doubt our abilities, and no matter how unfortunate our circumstances may seem.

The human Spirit has shown time and again that if we persist, stay true to our passions, and think flexibly in the face of adversity, that nothing, NOTHING is ever Impossible!

    Creating Your Own Luck

Personally, I don’t believe in “chance luck”. What I do believe is that we create our own luck as a result of making effective, educated and well-timed decisions. This involves doing our homework, acquiring knowledge, learning new skills and cultivating the ability to persist while others decide to quit in the face of adversity.

If you hold on for long enough, opportunities always tend to present themselves.

Circumstances are Irrelevant, Responses are Paramount!

There have been moments in my life where I have sobbed and frowned for days on end :( I was shunning responsibility for my life and looking for excuses and someone to blame for my problems.

I realize today that it’s not what happens to us that matters, it’s what we do about it, how we focus our minds, interpret experiences, and the means by which we respond that makes the biggest difference in the end.

    Deadly Psychological Boulders

Here is a scenario… I am driving home from work and I suddenly come across a big boulder laying across the road blocking my way home. What do I do? Do I resign to the fact that I will be sleeping in my car tonight? Or do I turn around and take an alternate route?

This scenario makes complete sense in the Physical World. However, when confronted with Psychological roadblocks it’s often not so easy to recognize.

    Psychological Warfare

Every single day I come across challenges, problems and unexpected surprises that make me think that the world always seems to be conspiring against me However, most of the time, it’s not so much the Physical obstacles, such as people and circumstances that slow me down – instead it’s often the Psychological obstacles that silently sabotage my momentum.

    Turn Pessimism into Motivating Force

No matter how many books I may have read, inspirational movies I have watched, or obstacles I have overcome, I still catch myself at times talking pessimistically about myself and about life. Sometimes I purposefully use it as a “2nd Voice” that motivates me to rise above adversity, while at other times it sneaks up on me when I least expect it :(
