Life Doesn’t Get You What You Want

Several years ago, I went through a period where I was wholeheartedly engrossed in the Law of Attraction. I read every book I could get my hands on and did those little things that would supposedly help me attract what I wanted most into my life. For instance I wrote a cheque (check) to myself for millions of dollars and affirmed everyday that I attract good fortune into my life.

What I didn’t realize at the time was that the Law of Attraction DOESN’T WORK if my Values are in conflict, if I have limiting Beliefs, if my Priorities are not aligned with my Goals, and if I don’t take any action icon sad Life Doesnt Get You What You Want

Today I realize that life doesn’t get me WHAT I WANT, but rather WHAT I DESERVE based on my Subconscious Psychological Tendencies. And unless I work on my Psychology every single day, than I will struggle in every way.

I Am Not My Past If I Learn from It

The Past is the Past. There is no point in looking back on it unless I have something to learn about myself.

If I suddenly make a mistake in the present by saying something stupid, doing something irresponsible, or simply not doing something I know I should, than the moment I realize and learn from my mistake or indiscretion, is the moment I let go of the past and become renewed in the present moment.

I am therefore NOT MY PAST if I learn from my past in order to improve myself in the present, and effectively prepare myself for the future.

The Key to Overcoming Life’s Problems

I experience problems everyday. Some BIG, some small, some rather insignificant that unfortunately turn out to be quite significant when ignored icon sad The Key to Overcoming Lifes Problems However, no matter what problems I face, I know that I can overcome them if I ask the Right Questions Persistently.

For every problem in life there is a solution, otherwise it wouldn’t be called a problem but rather a DISASTER!!! However, solutions can only be found by asking the Right Questions – and knowing the RIGHT Questions to Ask means that I must first ask the WRONG Questions in order to get to the Right Questions that will provide me with the Solutions and Answers I need to Solve the Problem I have Ignored all this time icon wink The Key to Overcoming Lifes Problems

    You Alone Control Your Perspective

People often and unnecessarily waste their Emotions and Time dwelling upon things that they cannot Change or Control. Subsequently this makes them feel Inadequate, Incapable and Overwhelmed. What’s the point? Either focus on something else, or change your Perspective of the situation immediately. Life is simply too short to waste our thoughts on things that we simply have no influence over.

    Finding Your Motivation for Exercise

When I initially started jogging it was difficult at times to motivate myself to exercise consistently throughout the week. However, I found that when I turned my jogging into a Psychological Race against the clock and against invisible Olympic Marathon Runners, that it made things a lot more interesting and fun icon smile Finding Your Motivation for Exercise

As I jogged, there was a Sports Commentator sitting in my head providing his/her opinion about my performance, speed, level of fitness and mental toughness. And surprisingly this Sports Commentator was my biggest fan, and always managed to get me over the line in 1st place right at the end of the race icon smile Finding Your Motivation for Exercise

What Can You Do For Me?

It is said that success in any field of endeavor isn’t about WHAT YOU KNOW, but rather about WHO YOU KNOW and more importantly about WHO KNOWS & RESPECTS YOU. Although when it comes to Networking I think it’s important to remember that it’s NOT about ME, but rather about what I can do for YOU that counts. Networking is after all built upon relationships NOT sales.

I have people approach me and all they want to do is push their business and ideas…

“I don’t care about your business. I only care about myself and my needs. I am obviously the most important person in my life, no matter how shallow that may seem. Do something for me first, even if it’s something small, than once you have won my respect and admiration will I help you get what you want in a big way.”

This may be a harsh way of looking at life, however if people could talk honestly and openly, than I suspect that is exactly what they would say.

A Smile Can Unlock a World of Opportunity

I jog regularly during the week. The jog takes me 30 to 35 minutes, and over that time on a typical day I pass at least 20 to 30 people. Now, normally I would just jog by without acknowledging them. However, one day I decided that I would simply smile at everyone. Not only did most people acknowledge me in return with a smile, but more importantly they actually ended up consciously noticing my presence for the very first time. In fact, the next time I saw them, they would usually initiate eye-contact, a smile and even strike up a conversation.

Such a simple thing, yet what an impact it had on those around me. And who knows what kind of opportunities it has unearthed icon smile A Smile Can Unlock a World of Opportunity

Patience Can Be Detrimental to Success

If life was all about planting a seed in the ground and then patiently waiting for it to grow, than everyone with patience would be successful. However, life isn’t that way, and people who patiently wait for things to happen end up with NOTHING!!!

Yes, patience of course is important, however Persistent, Creative and Flexible Thinking breaks down the barriers of time and dramatically speeds up the process of growth and creation.

A Single “Quote” Can Transform Your Life

When I go away on long trips or holidays I like to take a book of inspirational and thought provoking quotes with me. I find this to be a far more effective use of my down time.

I will read a quote, then contemplate for a few moments asking:

    - How does this relate to my life at the moment?
    - How is it a reflection of who I was, who I am, and who I am becoming?
    - How can I incorporate this message into my life?
    - How could my future be different if I viewed life from this perspective?
    - And so forth…

The worst thing I could do is read the quote without contemplation or reflection. It would be a plain waste of time. I rather reflect upon 5 quotes within 20 minutes than read 100 quotes over that time, and have nothing to show for the time I spent reading them.

Life is a Journey Not a Destination

Life is a journey of ups and downs, of opportunities and obstacles, of happiness and despair. However, when it comes down to it Life is also about Living Passionately each day, it’s about overcoming fear, about believing in yourself, making a difference in other people’s lives, about thinking BIG and acting BIGGER, and it’s about building our dreams one brick at a time.
